This heist film is top notch boasting an all star cast. This is not cheap poorly made thrills, but intelligent conniving. This is what girl power is about, this is what Ocean’s 8 should have been. This is strong diverse #metoo womanhood taking control and not taking crap. Please get it a try!

With the help of a staggering ensemble cast, Steve McQueen has made an intelligent, emotional thriller that contemplates contemporary American politics as confidently as it does blowing shit up.

Simultaneously an affecting drama of self-discovery and hard-won female power.
Wall Street Journal

A police shootout leaves four thieves dead during an explosive armed robbery attempt in Chicago. Their widows – Veronica, Linda, Alice and Belle – have nothing in common except a debt left behind by their spouses’ criminal activities. Hoping to forge a future on their own terms, Veronica joins forces with the other three women to pull off a heist that her husband was planning.

This movie is a beautiful magic trick. everything about it screams “bargain bin thriller,” but the performances are so captivating and the writing is so focused that it manages to become top stuff. It’s very smart, surprisingly funny, cynical, and perfectly structured.
